Give us a quick overview on Wolfpack Digital. When and how did you begin this journey and what were your motives to be successful in app development?

Our journey at Wolfpack Digital began in 2015 when, after returning from London where I studied in a Business Management M.Sc. and worked as an iOS developer in a smart jewellery company for a while, I decided to start my own company in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. We are fascinated by apps and digital products and by how technology can improve our daily lives, and find that a holistic approach to product development is the best option. We have now reached a team of almost 50 people and help clients with their business strategy (we have product experts onboard), UX/UI design, web and mobile app development, and QA testing. The name of the company stems from my surname, which means “Wolf”.


What is your role in the management and development of Wolfpack Digital?

As the founder and CEO, I am currently responsible for the overall vision, culture and business development, and help improve production/development processes.


Tell us about your biggest achievement in the industry

It’s very difficult to pick one single project or achievement, since it would seem unfair to the others. For example, we were very happy to have won an accelerator recently from a total of 200 teams and to have been mentioned in Forbes magazine with one of our own apps.


How do you schedule the development phases of the apps to promise the timeline to your clients?

We start by deciding together with the client on a list of features to be implemented and afterwards estimate the effort involved and propose a timeline based on the agreed resources. Next, we proceed to any UX/UI work in several iterations and once the design is approved we move on to development, testing and launch. We periodically examine and adjust the timeline.


How do you help your clients in choosing the right yet profitable platform for app development?

We always consider business needs, target audience and scalability needs, and make our recommendation based on that.


Which would you suggest for a successful and profitable business progression, Native or hybrid apps? How do you define the factors that influenced you to make this choice?

We believe that although Hybrid may have its advantages in certain situations (single codebase, presumably overall lower costs), in the end going Native is the best choice, since the user gets a better UX and therefore user retention is improved.  Also, development costs actually end up being quite similar, and the time to launch your Native app is shorter, from our experience.


How do you scheme your pricing model? How do you fix your budget?

At Wolfpack Digital, we work on a time and materials basis and follow-up regularly on the time spent on developing the app, system or project.


How helpful are the mobile apps developed by your team, for enhancing your clients’ business?

Based on our client reviews and success stories, the mobile apps really helped them grow their business, either as a core part of their business, or as an extension. We have clients that grew their business from 5 people to 50 due to the success of the apps developed with us.


What according to you are the best practices to attain client satisfaction?

We believe that a solid relationship based on honesty, fairness and loyalty is the best way to go.


How do you update your business system to be in pace with the technological advancements?

We always test new technologies and decide to incorporate them once they are proven, by taking into account whether they genuinely bring value to our customers and our performance.


What are your thoughts about AR, VR and Internet of Things (IoT)?

AR and VR are going to shape the way humankind experiences life, both positively and negatively, and we believe in integrating related elements enthusiastically, yet mindfully. IoT is a field we absolutely love and we have worked on more than 7 projects in this domain, using Bluetooth, beacons, WiFi etc., with direct application in micro-localization in moving vehicles, plant irrigation, children’s entertainment etc..


What do you think will be the future of Mobile technology?

I believe Mobile technology may soon be almost the only kind of technology and that with its enhanced power the challenge may be with defining ourselves as people outside of technology. Developing business mobile apps or mobile-friendly web apps will become a must for business owners.
