Give us a quick overview on Techuz Infoweb. When and how did you begin this journey and what were your motives to be successful in app development?
Techuz Infoweb is a web and mobile app development company based in India with its offices in the US and Singapore. We are a team of 50+ developers and designers specialized in developing applications for startups and enterprises. Over 7 years, we have served 100+ projects to 55+ clients from varied industries including sports, edTech, healthcare, e-commerce, automobiles, logistics and more
My entrepreneurial journey started back in 2009 after I completed my degree in Computer Science. But instead of drafting cover letters, I started working on my own product. I worked on it for a year, however, due to some reasons I had to drop that idea. In the process, I gathered insights into what it takes to develop quality products. I also realized most of the web and mobile development companies at that time were not meeting the client’s expectation in terms of quality and efficiency. I saw a huge opportunity in this space and so, I decided to start a web and mobile app development company with a motto to provide the best quality services.
What is your role in the management and development of Techuz Infoweb?
I’m the CEO of the company and most of the time my work comprises of client communication, sales and strategies for the company's growth — the business part. However, being a technology and coding enthusiast, I also provide my input to operations and project management.

How do you schedule the development phases of the apps to promise the timeline to your clients?
The development phases depend on the methodology used to develop the project which is determined by the needs of the project. For the projects with fixed needs, we use the iterative waterfall method in which tasks and their timelines are decided in advance. These tasks are then divided into different milestones with deadlines and the development is initiated. While when using the Agile methodology, we schedule the development in sprints of 2-3 weeks and at the end of each sprint a shippable feature is delivered.
How do you help your clients in choosing the right yet profitable platform for app development?
Selecting the right platform and technology are critical to the success of the application. And to make sure the client gets the right one, we drill down to the projects at micro levels to understand the project needs. There are a myriad of factors that must be considered while determining the technology but some of the common ones include — size and type of the application, its features, complexity, level of security, time to market and scalability.
Which would you suggest for a successful and profitable business progression, Native or hybrid apps? How do you define the factors that influenced you to make this choice?
Hybrid applications can be a good option to launch the product in the market as an MVP and validate the idea. However, in the long run, it is the user experience, performance, features and functionalities that will make the application successful. So, I would suggest a native application for profitable business progression.
How do you scheme your pricing model? How do you fix your budget?
We provide two types of pricing model — fixed price and time and material — and these two are based on the type of project and its requirements.
In the fixed price model, the project requirements are generally frozen so it becomes easy to determine the overall cost. We divide the project tasks into different milestones and the client can make the payment on completion of each milestone. For the projects with no fixed requirement or evolving requirements, time and material model proves to be more feasible. Here, the client is billed for the number of hours spent on the project.
How helpful are the mobile apps developed by your team, for enhancing your clients’ business?
Over the past 7 years, we have delivered 50+ mobile apps to our clients from varied industries ranging from healthcare, sports, media, logistics, to education. And our app development has indeed helped our clients to achieve their business goals. One of our clients was a major sports facility center in Europe and the US. We developed iOS, Android and web app that has helped them to streamline their club and organize the events in a better way. This lead to a spike in the club’s membership and enhanced member experience.

How do you update your business system to be in pace with the technological advancements?
The technologies in our industry keep on updating. What’s new today becomes outdated tomorrow and we have to stay updated with the trends. And to keep up with the pace, we prepare our developers to work with new technologies. We believe clarity in concepts and a good amount of time to experiment with the technology is the key to prepare the workforce. So initially, we provide the team with the necessary resources and materials such as online courses. Once the developers get a good grip over the working of the technology, we encourage them to build POC and upload it on GitHub. This allows us to understand the level of skills acquired by the developers on the new technology and once we feel our developers are ready, we can start providing the new technology service to our clients.
What are your thoughts about AR, VR and Internet of Things (IoT)?
AR, VR and Internet of Things — these technologies are going to be the new paradigm. In the coming years, AR/VR and IoT are going to be an intrinsic part of the mobile application industry too. Although these technologies are still immature, they are redefining things. You name it, from gaming, traveling, health, retail to automobiles AR, VR and IOT have shown promising potential in every industry.
What do you think will be the future of Mobile technology?
Unequivocally, mobile technology is on the rise — whether it be the ever-increasing numbers of mobile phones and app users or the introduction of new sophisticated technologies such as AI and AR/VR. Mobile technology is also gradually getting bigger in terms of hardware and configuration which will open new dimensions for the high-performing solutions just like the web and native desktop applications.
