Challenges:
Creating an online food supply with the target audience consisting of students and teachers, is not an easy task – especially, when parental permission is involved. Sigma Solve had to devise a custom solution for the client, in which a system where users could select different meals, drinks, and side meals, would be developed, while also addressing the end users’ concern of food allergies. In addition, the client wished to reduce the work of users by providing the functionality to repeat meals on select days and weeks.
Solution:
Addressing the requirements of the client, Sigma Solve built a website in nopCommerce where different options were displayed, available to the user (parents, teachers) to register. Parents were able to select the meal for more than one child with the same login credentials. They were also were able to set login credentials that even their child(ren) could use to place an order.
Result:
Upon launching the nopCommerce (3.6) website, business boomed and high levels of growth and revenue resulted. The website also helped users to select meals as per their needs, giving them the convenience and ease to select meal choices for up to the next 4 weeks. Clients could keep track of and monitor the orders, given the ability to generate different reports as per the availability in the admin panel.
TACO Marine
The Client :
For more than 60 years TACO Marine has provided innovative marine and sport fishing products that solidified their position as an industry leader. Their products are well known for their supreme quality with boat builders, dealers, distributors, accessory manufacturers and retailers relying on TACO’s industry knowledge to deliver products, testing equipment, and processes that are both time and budget conscious.
TACO Marine distributes direct to the consumer and also supplies on a wholesale and resale basis. The multi-faceted delivery systems for this client, as well as their desire to serve as a hub of information for the marine industry, keep TACO on the forefront of innovations and developments within the marine industry.
The Project:
TACO Marine’s original site did not incorporate a project management system, so they were beholden to a third party to make any changes on the site. This was extremely expensive, as the company’s prices and inventory changed frequently. Taco Marine traditionally sold their products through distributors, dealers and boat builders, but only to consumers through aftermarket partners like West Marine. Because all dealers and distributors did not inventory all of their products, however, TACO Marine wanted to move to online sales, but the site did not function in this way. The blog for TACO Marine was also hosted on a different website, limiting SEO power. Lastly, certain products and materials needed to be highlighted on the site for easy access by users, yet the infrastructure of the original site was limiting.
The Action Plan:
A CRM with eCommerce capabilities was built into the new, Sigma Solve designed site.
The Results:
The CRM allowed for TACO Marine’s two-step distribution to incorporate shipping and processing without interference or error. More than 700 new SKUs were added to the website and product stills and videos were reshot for display. Highlighted pages became the most visited pages on the site, proving ease of access for the end customer. Traffic to the new TACO Marine site is up 25 percent due to the SEO friendly nature of the site.
TACO Marine is excited to work with Sigma Solve for phase two of their website and enjoys working with the project management team, who presented deliverables on time and on budget. As new challenges were presented, the Sigma Solve team jumped to meet deadlines, even if the challenges were outside the original scope of work.
Sigma Solve, Inc had a problem solving attitude which helped the TACO Marine team address their core issues. The company is now moving into the next phase of ERP integration which will enable TACO Marine to sell custom products online. Sigma Solve, Inc adopted an Agile approach for software development, providing continuous delivery that is adaptive to changes required by the business.
Agile is a standard practice for services-oriented projects, code and design deliverables. Sigma teams employ it when the client’s involvement is crucial for development or when the product’s features and functions are not set in stone, allowing margins to improve and adapt. Through small, incremental changes Sigma Solve will continue to test and advance swiftly towards the end product while remaining flexible to evolving circumstances and initial plan modifications.
Fresh Meal Plan
Problem
Fresh Meal Plan, a Blue Apron subscription competitor that delivers meals to your door, had been growing due to a recent digital web and snail mail marketing campaign. However, the website was disconnected from the sales team in that all leads, inquiries and orders were simply being stored in a database connected to the website. The sales team had to login to the website administration daily to see if any orders had been placed, or if any leads or inquiries had to be tended to.
To ensure a seamless experience for all parties involved, Factor3’s development team was asked to integrate the Fresh Meal Plan website with their new Salesforce CRM platform. This meant utilizing the necessary Salesforce REST APIs to develop code that would allow for a two-way sync of data and communication between various parts of the Fresh Meal Plan e-commerce website and their Salesforce CRM platform.
When a customer selects a plan, an “Opportunity” record is created in Salesforce, which gets open and closed once the customer actually signs up. If an opportunity remains open, the sales team can take action from Salesforce by engaging with the customer via email, whether that is direct conversation or providing a special offer to close the deal. Closed opportunities move on to the next stage of the fulfillment process where the sales team works through the queue of orders that have come in.
Solution
As a result of the recent growth, Fresh Meal Plan expanded their sales team and implemented a Salesforce CRM solution to better track and manage their sales and fulfillment processes. This meant that Salesforce would be used to store everything involving meal plans, pricing, past and current customers, leads, inquiries, and anything else relevant to the sales process. Less
Since the Fresh Meal Plan sales team was constantly honing and updating their meal plan offerings and pricing, it was essential to have a centralized spot where the Sales team could update those subscriptions. By storing the meal plans in a set of custom objects in Salesforce, plans, pricing and descriptions could easily be updated by anyone on the sales team. At the same time, utilizing the Salesforce REST API, we were able to program and transition a previously static display of meal plan offerings and replace that with a dynamic, real-time view so the customer always sees the most up-to-date offerings.
To complete their order, customers must register, create a login and successfully pay for their subscription order. The customer’s contact information and credentials are stored within Salesforce Personal Accounts. When customers login to the website, we utilize the Salesforce REST API along with the OAuth2 protocol to authenticate the user and provide secure access to their account and plan data.
Guardian Health
Requirement
We catered to the client’s need of creating a user-friendly, easily accessible website to help users purchase medicines online, as needed. The approach was hassle-free for users, as the interactive interface allowed customers to automatically place the same order every month. Additionally, the client wanted to add the third-party tool Quickbook; along with this functionality, shipstation and medicines with DAC integration were looked at for implementation at a later time.
Solution
Although the adoption of certain tools and techniques was challenging, Sigma Solve developed a website with the above listed requirements and exceeded expectations, in regards to the quality of the end product. Furthermore, functionality of the recurring order is being developed for more comport of the end users and to provide users with the option of selecting the recurring days. As well as that, self-deduction from the credit card purchases is being implemented. The products with DAC mandatory is used for some products. QuickBooks was also seamlessly integrated by Sigma Solve to aid in better management of accounts and to allow for a streamlined process for the client.
Result

As a result, there was noticeable growth in the sales of the site and an increase in the numbers of recurring orders placed, which contributed to the overall success of the company.
