Give us a quick overview on SemiDot InfoTech. When and how did you begin this journey and what were your motives to be successful in app development?
In 2011, I was working in a technology firm in London and I realized that many of the companies who were outsourcing their projects were not satisfied with their providers. I found that client satisfaction is lacking in this domain and that’s the gap we are trying to fill since then.
What is your role in the management and development of SemiDot InfoTech?
I am one of the co-founders of the company and I oversee UK and European Sales of the Company. I travel frequently to meet our clients and to know the areas in which we can improve. I also engage in projects involving emerging technologies like blockchain, Machine learning etc.
Tell us about your biggest achievement in the industry
It’s hard to pinpoint any specific achievement as each milestone, no matter how big or small, it has made us who we are today. One of our clients grew from a company of 5 to 400 employees in 3 years. We are proud that we developed the custom software for them and for being a part of their success.
How do you schedule the development phases of the apps to promise the timeline to your clients?
We work in both the agile and SDLC models, from the most adaptive approach to the most planned one it all depends on the client’s requirements. For the agile method, we follow the timeline milestone approach, to achieve the most, in the least possible time. If the project requirements are fixed, we suggest one of the SDLC models to the client, if they are dynamic, we suggest agile methodology for app development.
How do you help your clients in choosing the right yet profitable platform for app development?
With our years of experience in app development, we can suggest the most suitable platform for the client as per their business plan. Our risk analysts and project managers work together with the client to suggest an optimal solution, all while it stays profitable, and true to the root idea.
Which would you suggest for a successful and profitable business progression, Native or hybrid apps? How do you define the factors that influenced you to make this choice?
We have built a large number of Native and Hybrid apps. There is no clear choice, we can easily tell looking at the business requirements of the clients. Some people may not weigh in important things like the customising user experience each of the Android and iOS users like, for others the longer time taken for Native Apps is not an issue, so it depends.
How do you scheme your pricing model? How do you fix your budget?
It completely depends on the client’s requirements and how the client wants the application to be built. If the requirements are clear and frozen, prior to starting the actual work, we can go for a fixed price model. If the requirements aren’t clear and the ideology is still in the growing phase, we prefer and suggest the agile model, as it has complete flexibility according to the dynamic requirements.
How helpful are the mobile apps developed by your team, for enhancing your clients’ business?
Our sole focus remains on how the App can help the client and his customers. While our business analyst gathers the client's requirements, our designers and project manager think of ways to innovate the app in the best way possible for best end user experience. Overall, our goal is to keep both our clients and their customers satisfied, with our intricately developed mobile apps.
What according to you are the best practices to attain client satisfaction?
According to our vision, client satisfaction must be achieved at every step and not just at the end of product development. It’s important to be fully transparent with the client so that you both are on the same page at every stage of the development.
How do you update your business system to be in pace with the technological advancements?
When a new technology trend hit the market, if we believe that particular technology is sustainable then we start working on the beta versions of it and look to collaborate with start-ups who are already working in that particular domain.
What are your thoughts about AR, VR and Internet of Things (IoT)?
We have worked on our fair share of AR, VR, MR, and IoT technologies. All these technologies are hampered by the lack of infrastructure. Once the infrastructure is in place, things can go further and beyond. We have an inclination towards emerging technologies and if any client wants to go beyond the technology of our time, we would love to hop aboard and be a part of their project.
What do you think will be the future of Mobile technology?
Mobile technology isn’t just apps and wireless internet it’s way beyond that. People think that Mobile Apps technologies are on its last leg, but that’s not the case. With the advent of Internet of things (IoT), it will grow exponentially in coming years.
