Interview with Andrey Koziachiy, CEO - JayDevs

Give us a quick overview on Jay.devs. When and how did you begin this journey and what were your motives to be successful in app development?

Jay.devs is an EU-based company. It is a multi-talented team realizing different Web and Mobile software ideas and delivering them to market. Our software engineers, testers and designers have deep technical expertise (qualified Senior and Lead engineers), they fluently speak English and can integrate into any development team quickly saving your resources. Initially, Jay.devs management team was a part of Exposit Company, but we decided to create a separated legal entity for development of projects using the Dedicated Team cooperation model. Thanks to this focus our engineers are able and ready to lead software ideas to successful releases in the most effective way.


What is your role in the management and development of Jay.devs?

I am the Co-Founder and CEO at Jay.devs Company. I work here since its foundation in 2017. I take part in all strategic discussions, keep track of current and potential contracts, plan and explore Jay.devs business development opportunities.


Tell us about your biggest achievement in the industry

Since 2017 we have delivered more than 50 projects to market for healthcare, transportation, telecom and other industries. Our biggest achievement is our team as it consists of only proven Senior- and Lead-level specialists. They can recover any software project, realize web, mobile and enterprise apps and deliver them with great design and quality. Our mentors with 15+ years of experience in IT could help you organize the involvement of our developers in your projects in the most productive way.


How do you schedule the development phases of the apps to promise the timeline to your clients?

Jay.devs works using only Dedicated Team cooperation model that means that we integrate specific engineers into development teams of our clients. Dedicated Team works fine if you need extra or specific resources to refine the functionality or develop a project from scratch. Our engineers are fully concentrated on your projects and don’t participate in third-party tasks. This way you fully manage and control the team and its workload during the working hours. From our side, Jay.devs ensures fulfillment of all obligations stipulated in contract including deadlines.


How do you help your clients in choosing the right yet profitable platform for app development?

Sometimes we receive requests for development of an existing application – in this case we work with previously chosen platform. We integrate new developed modules with this platform and apply modern technologies to make this product stable, friendly for users and easy to support for developers. In case when we create a product from scratch, on demand we can consult on the platform to choose for development. The decision stands on the client’s target audience, planned functionality, budget, time frames, etc.


Which would you suggest for a successful and profitable business progression, Native or hybrid apps? How do you define the factors that influenced you to make this choice?

Choice on Native or Hybrid app depends on the target audience, planned functionality, budget and timeframes for the project. But different businesses need different solutions. For example: if you have an ecommerce web app and your target audience uses mostly mobile phones for purchases, development of a mobile app for their devices will be a great investment. It will make their buying journey more comfortable and affect the number of conversions and sales volume of your business. Thus, before development it is needful to look at all project opportunities, limitations and needs of your users.


How do you scheme your pricing model? How do you fix your budget?

For development using Dedicated Team model the resulting price is based on hourly rates and time spent by our engineers on your projects. This is always stipulated in the contract signed, which also implies that the client fully manages our team during the hours specified and is responsible for workload.


How helpful are the mobile apps developed by your team, for enhancing your clients’ business?

Since Jay.devs foundation in 2017 we have helped our clients to realize more than 50 projects for their businesses including healthcare industry, transportation, telecom, retail, ecommerce, energy and more. Our mobile apps work stably, increase users engagement and sales volume.


What according to you are the best practices to attain client satisfaction?

Timely deliveries, quality services, and transparent communication. Thanks to these three components our clients give us positive feedback and return with new requests.


How do you update your business system to be in pace with the technological advancements?

Jay.devs has a structured business system with well-adjusted production and administrative processes. While growing our business we improve management, organizational structure and services provided. We work with only proven engineers that constantly explore new technological trends and development methodologies to adapt to specific projects.


What are your thoughts about AR, VR and Internet of Things (IoT)?
 
I think that AR, VR and IoT could be a gold mine in the retail and ecommerce businesses. We have taken part in several projects with VR and AR features implementation, including games software, applications for applying covering materials in a real interior. Jay.devs engineers also have experience implementing functionality for smart homes.


What do you think will be the future of Mobile technology?

Recently, progressive web apps (PWA) are gaining popularity. I don’t think that they will replace Native and Hybrid mobile apps, but they will take a part of a mobile market. Future of mobile technology implies ability to do everything on the go, including appointments with doctors, house décor design or streaming media to social. And now it’s clear that most users are switching to mobile phones thanks to mobile technologies progress.
