Interview with Oleg Calugher, Director - CubyCode

Give us a quick overview on CubyCode. When and how did you begin this journey and what were your motives to be successful in web design and development?

I began in 2013, from home - it all started as a hobby really, I learned how to code in Swift from Youtube tutorials.


What is your role in the management and development of CubyCode?

I am the founder and managing director, I started from scratch in 2013 and now we have a distributed but assembled team of 12 professionals


Tell us about your biggest achievement in the industry

The biggest achievement - I earned 170k $ from my products only from Envato marketplace.


How do you schedule the development phases of the web design and development projects to promise the timeline to your clients?

We use Jira, Trello software and Slack - it’s really helping us a lot.


Which framework, programming or scripting languages do you prefer for web development? How do you convince your clients for the same?

We use plenty, but currently, we are more into the app development, both native and hybrid apps. We work in Android Studio, Swift, Objective-C


What would you suggest for a successful and profitable business progression, when it comes to web design and development? How do you define the factors that influenced you to make this choice?

It’s all about a good team and good quality of service, the clients usually recommend to friends and other businesses if you did a great job for them. Here is the main growth factor I would say.


How do you scheme your pricing model? How do you fix your budget?

The pretty basic formula, we need to have at least 50% margins to cover our expenses and re-invest the rest. I don’t really take profits out of this. The budget is calculated on the hours we spend on the whole project. A project manager is in tight contact with me when it comes to estimation.


How helpful are the web design and development made by CubyCode for your clients in enhancing their business?

I would say very helpful, most of the clients increased their app or website ROI and sales after we put our hand on it.


What according to you are the best practices to attain client satisfaction for web development?

Treat every customer as if they were a VIP. Keep measuring customer satisfaction. Keep an eye on what customers say about you on social media


How do you update your business system to be in pace with the technological advancements?

Improving our ability to attract and retain frontline workers with technology skills


What are your thoughts about material design, progressive web app, and Internet of Things (IoT)?

I am very positive about the future of design and app development, IoT is still something new, but with the new 5G technology this new niche will skyrocket and change the web and app development forever.


What do you think will be the future of web design and development technology?

AI will be integrated a lot in the web and app development industry.
